Info | Kim Trew was born in Kyle, Saskatchewan on June 7, 1953, and grew up on the Beechy Co-op farm. Kim was educated in Beechy and, for a period of two years, in Guyana, South America. Kim graduated from Beechy High School and continued his education obtaining a Certificate in Personnel Administration from the University of Regina.
Kim was employed at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for 12 years. He was a member of the Grain Services Union where he served on the union’s bargaining committee. Kim is an active member of Zion United Church. He is married to Lorna. They have three children and two grandchildren. Kim enjoys golfing, surf sailing, water and snow skiing, and activities with his family, especially his grandchildren.
First elected in Oct 1986, Kim was re-elected in 1991, 1995, 1999, and 2003. He served in cabinet from February 2001 to March 2002 as Minister of Labour and Minister Responsible for SPMC and Sask Gaming Corp. Kim has served on the Standing Committees on Crown Corp and Environment. He now serves on the Standing Committee on Privileges, Public Accounts Committee, and is the Government Caucus chairperson.
