InfoKen Krawetz has lived and worked in the Canora-Pelly area all of his life. He began his teaching career after receiving a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Saskatchewan. Ken taught for 11 years in Invermay and then served for nine years on the Canora School Division Board of Education. In addition, he spent six years on the SSTA, serving two years as its president.

Ken owned and operated an insurance brokerage from 1983 to 1993 in his hometown of Invermay. He continues to operate the family farm. He is currently in his third term as the MLA for the Canora-Pelly constituency. As a devoted hockey player and an overall sports fan, Ken still plays on his hometown hockey team and is seen frequenting hockey rinks and ball fields throughout the province. He’s a provincially registered official for hockey and volleyball.

Ken was a member of the Invermay Kinsmen Club for more than 25 years and worked at many Telemiracles. His extensive dedication and volunteer work has earned him several awards including the Canada 125 Award in 1993, the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002, and the Centennial Medal in 2005.

Ken currently resides on the family farm with his wife Gail. Gail is a teacher and principal at Invermay School. Their son Bryce and Bryce’s wife Olivia live in Strasbourg where Bryce teaches school. Ken and Gail’s daughter Lindsay is completing her degree in Business Administration at the University of Regina.

Ken is the Deputy Leader of the Saskatchewan Party Official Opposition and serves as Labour Critic and Finance Deputy Critic. He was interim Leader of the Saskatchewan Party and Leader of the Opposition from 1997 to 1999. Currently, Ken serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Privileges.
