InfoTony Tomassi was born in January 1971. He is married and father of five children, Alexandro, Luca, Erica, Gabriella and Samuel.

He was General Manager of Genco, from 1997 to February 2003. He previously served as Political Aide to Huguette Bacon Boucher, Liberal Member for Bourget (1993-1994) and to Michel Bissonnet, Liberal Member for Jeanne-Mance (1989-1993).

He studied in Political science at the Université du Québec à Montréal (1992-1993) and at the Université de Montréal (1990-1991). He also studied in Social science at the Marie-Victorin College (1989-1990) after attending the Joseph-François-Perreault High School (1983-1988).

Tony Tomassi was elected as M.N.A. fort LaFontaine in the general election of April 14, 2003. Since October 2004, he is Vice-chair of the Committee on Transportation and Environment. He is also Member of the Committee on Planning and the Public Domain since June 2003 and Member of the Committee on Public Finance since November 2005.

Since March 2006 he is Vice-chair, Québec Section, of the Eastern Regional Conference (ERC) of the Council of State Governments (CSG) and the National Assembly representative on the Eastern Regional Conference Executive Committee and Vice president of the ERC Eastern Canadian Provinces/Eastern American States Committee. He is also, since October 2003, Member of the Delegation of the National Assembly for Relations with Europe (DANRE) and Member, Québec Section, of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).

Tony Tomassi was awarded the Jubilee Medal of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
