Info | Rep. McClanahan, a Democrat, represents part of Adair, Putnam and Sullivan Counties (District 2) in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was elected to the House in November 2006.
In addition to her legislative duties, Rep. McClanahan is a Mental Healthy Nursing Consultant. She has spent over 30 years working as a Nurse Educator at Truman State University in Kirksville. Rep. McClanahan is the Immediate Past Vice-President of the Missouri Nurses Association, a member of the Church of the Nazarene and Treasurer of the Rho Omega Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Rep. McClanahan was a nominee for the Leadership Excellence Award of the Rho Omega Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She was also the 2002 nominee for the William Lee O’Donnell Advising Award.
A 1969 graduate of Mt. Zion Bible School in Ava, Missouri, Rep. McClanahan received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Truman State University in 1975. She received her Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1982 and has achieved Doctoral Candidacy at the University of Kansas.
Born October 23, 1951 in Moberly, Missouri, Rep. McClanahan currently resides in Kirksville with her husband, Marvin. They have two children: Andrew and Bryan.
