InfoJohn's early childhood was growing up on the shores of Lake Erie in Lorain where his father, brother, and uncle were UAW members at Ford Motor Company. John's very first job was working as a clay pigeon launcher at a trap shoot that his father and mother operated and managed.

In 1981, his family moved to North Canton where John attended Lake High School in Uniontown. After graduating in 1983, John joined the Air Force where he was stationed for 10 years at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana.

John worked briefly at Malone College as a Computer Engineer when a position working for the U.S. Postal Service became available. In 1995, John started working as an engineering contractor with the U.S. Postal Service in Akron.

In late 2003, John was offered a job in Washington D.C. working for the Department of Transportation Inspector General's Office as a Federal Auditor. During his few years with the Inspector General's Office, John's audit results were used to identify fraud, waste, and abuse within the Department of Transportation and the National Transportation Safety Board. His audit results were also used by Senator Ted Stevens (R) in Senate Confirmation Hearings for the new Chairperson of the National Transportation Safety Board. In 2005, John and his co-workers received an "Audit of the Year Award" from Inspector General Kenneth Mead.

However, because of a federal law called the "Hatch Act", John had to resign is auditor position with the Inspector General in order to run for the Ohio House 50th District seat. John currently is working as Lead Auditor for Ohio Savings Bank.

John and his wife, Marybeth, make their home in Perry Township. They have 7 children.
