| Info | Sandra Williams grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where she attended Cleveland Public Schools.
After high school, she attended Cleveland State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and a minor in Criminal Justice. While attending college Sandra worked full time as a corrections officer at the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department and enlisted in the United States Army Reserve where she served from 1987 through 1995 as an Administrative Assistant and was honorably discharged.
She worked in the field of Criminal Justice for over ten years in a myriad of positions such as a surveillance officer, probation officer and parole officer. She is also trained as a Mediator for the State of Ohio. Sandra later received her Master of Science Degree from Tiffin University in Criminal Justice Administration. She is also working toward her Masters Degree in Business Administration.
Sandra started out working in the above positions through the judicial branch of government and then moved into the legislative branch of government by training in two of the top political organization in Washington, DC; Participation 2000 and EMILY’s List.
Sandra has worked as a community liaison and legislative aide for State Representative Annie Key for the past five years. Her background has given her a unique insight into the inner working of the Ohio House of Representatives and the state legislative process which is the model foundation for an effective leader in Columbus, Ohio.
Sandra lives in the Buckeye area which is the same neighborhood that she grew up in. Sandra’s mother also resides in the Buckeye area. She has five brothers and sisters as well as 23 nieces and nephews. Sandra now wants to take her experience and knowledge to the statehouse to positively impact the lives of citizens of the 11th House District.
Sandra Williams has an outstanding record of community service. She is past President of the East 123rd Street Club, former precinct committee person in Ward 4 precinct E and volunteer for the Cleveland Food Bank, just to name a few.
