Info | Camille grew up in Bergen County. She attended St. Catherine’s in Glen Rock, Mount Carmel, Somerville School and Benjamin Franklin Junior High in Ridgewood, and then attended Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale. After high school she majored in Art Education at New York University, graduating in 1975. It was while at NYU that Camille became seriously involved in politics, joining the Greenwich Village Independent Democrats and actively campaigning for Democratic candidates.
With the intent of being a lawyer for the public interest, Camille went to law school four years after graduating from NYU, and started working for the Legal Aid Society in 1982. She spent 11 years making sure that justice was served by using the living, breathing document that is the Constitution of the United States. She decided to open her own practice in 1994, and to this day is an active civil rights lawyer on the side of working people, the handicapped, the disenfranchised, and the accused.
Camille is married to Robert Preuss, a deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey.
