Info | Judge Phillip Wood is married to the former Marsha Smith of Birmingham. They are the proud parents to four children; Emily, Laura Alise, Rachel, and Matthew. Marsha and Judge Wood have home educated their children for the past 16 years. Emily, Laura Alise and Rachel now attend college and Matthew is a junior in high school.
Judge Wood received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Auburn University in 1973 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama in 1977. Judge Wood entered the private practice of law in 1978 in Prattville , Alabama . He served on the Autauga County Commission from 1981 until 1983 when he was elected District Judge of Autauga County.
Judge Wood served in the United States Army Reserve from 1981 until 1988 and then served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Alabama Air National Guard, Judge Advocate General's Corp from 1988 until 2005. Judge Wood’s civic involvement includes serving as a Deacon/Bible Study Leader at First Baptist Church in Prattville , Adjunct Instructor at Troy University in Montgomery, the Prattville Lions Club where he held the board positions of Secretary, Vice President and President, Chairman of the Heart Association and Chairman of the Children's Policy Council of Autauga County.
