Info | Nathan was born in Sioux Falls, SD, February 13, 1981. The son of a pastor, he moved a lot. He has lived everywhere from Vancouver, B.C. to Willard, Ohio. He attended college at Lee University in Cleveland, TN, where he made two important decisions. On February 23, 2001 he asked his wife Mandi to marry him and about a month later signed a contract joining the Tennessee Army National Guard. Nathan and Mandi were married on June 1, 2002. Maddelyn Jo was born on their ten month anniversary. While mobilized, Emma Grace was born October 10, 2004 in Tiffin, Ohio. Maddelyn (34 months) and Emma (16 months) are truly gifts from God. He finished his B.A. in political science in May 2003.
He went on to get his M.A. in Teaching History, July 2004, while at Camp Shelby, MS training to deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III. He returned from Iraq in November and recieved his honorable discharge on December 3, 2005. While in Iraq, Nathan's unit oversaw the initial Iraqi elections, January 30th, 2005 and the Constitutional Referendum, October 15th, 2005. Nathan also took part in helping train two Iraqi Battalions. Mandi collected clothes and supplies for the Iraqi children and shipped them to Nathan, in Iraq, to distribute at their own expense. Operation Sharing Freedom, as it became known, shipped over 1,000 lbs of clothes, shoes, school supplies, and toys for the Iraqi children.
While deployed, Nathan began to see the situation at home seem to erode because of a lack of true representation in Washington, D.C. It was with much guidance, prayer, and support from his family and friends that Nathan decided that running for the 4th Congressional District seat would be best for the country and the citizens whom he wishes to represent. With dedication to God, Family, and Country, he is honored to be considered the people's candidate for Ohio's 4th Congressional District seat.
Nathan is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, AMVETS, The American Legion, the National Rifle Association, National Right to Life, The Republican National Committee, and is also a member of the Society of the First Infantry Division.
