InfoRep. Jane Cunningham, a Republican, represents Chesterfield in west St. Louis County (District 86) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Rep. Cunningham was elected vice president of the 2001 Freshman Legislative Class and is chairman of the House Education Committee. She represents Missouri on the Education Task Force of the American Legislative Exchange Council, a national organization of legislators.

In addition to her legislative duties, Rep. Cunningham is the marketing director for England & Company Rehabilitation Services, Inc., a medical and vocational rehabilitation company in St. Louis. Formerly she was a media and public relations assistant for John Danforth�s Attorney General campaign in 1974, and a legislative assistant for U.S. Congressman Silvio Conte in Washington, D.C. from 1968-1970.

Selected as a participant in the Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge class of 1994, a leadership recognition and training program in statewide political and economic issues, Rep. Cunningham has also been recognized in Who�s Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Rep. Cunningham was elected to the Ladue Board of Education - 1989-1992 and is or has been a member of the following organizations: board of directors, Missouri (Governor�s) Mansion Preservation, Inc. � 1987-1993; co-founder and president of Mid-County Teen Advocacy Council (MCTAC), a community effort to provide drug and alcohol free activities for teens � 1989-1995; the Chesterfield and Town and Country Chambers of Commerce; and the First Evangelical Free Church. She was a delegate to the 1992 Republican National Convention and was the only woman representing Missouri on the 1992 Republican National Platform Committee, serving with John Ashcroft.

A graduate of Ocala High School in Ocala, Florida, Rep. Cunningham received her bachelor of science degree in business administration with an emphasis in economics and marketing from Florida State University in 1968.

Born September 4, 1946 in Columbia, S.C., Rep. Cunningham resides in Chesterfield with her husband, Gary. They have two sons, Bret and Scott.
