Info | When I was eleven years old the second world war began in Poland on the first of September. I witnessed the horrors first hand. I survived by living 27 Kms from Warsaw growing own food for my parents and myself. I moulded my outlook on politics and the welfare of people in general. It made me cynical and realistic so my behaviour tends to reflect this frame of mind.
In the years that followed I studied politics along with humanities at Grossmont College in California, and my focus since had been on securing a safe and constructive infrastructure in the society where I happen to live. You might call my "aggressive pacifist", and I have no use for any wars unless they are strictly in self defense. I tend to favour reliance on the convictions of the majority of people I am with even if this is not necessarily a proscribed political doctrine. I consider this the only productive approach to broad participation in electoral process, and I reject the dictatorial demagoguery of a few opinionated individual that just might be running for office. Once the consensus is established on the express needs of the electorate. A committed and persuasive advocate such as I can have a unifying influence on the electoral process. To this end, in my opinion, it is necessary to discuss and listen to as many Canadians as possible and crystalize their aspirations. This approach may appear obvious. Unfortunately it is seldom practiced by most of our politicians. The heart of my own outlook and my ambition is to make our country independent from outside influences. We have great natural resources that should be used for the benefit of all Canadians, not foreign powers. The growth in prosperity that we can collectively create would not only elevate our standard of living and secure good future for our sons and daughters, it would also help us as a nation to be able to make rational decisions about the extent of our involvement in international squabbles the like of which we saw recently.
The future rests in our own hands not in the hands of some self appointed "world leaders". I would pledge the remaining years of my life (15 to 20) to the goal of sharing the knowledge of my generation for the advancement of our country and helping to avoid a political lethargy that arrests our progress.
