InfoAdam Jobse has always had a keen interest in politics. “After getting involved with Virginia Irvin’s campaign in the last federal election, and seeing how well she did, I promised to join the Green Party as soon as I was done college. I didn’t suspect I’d be running my own campaign this soon, especially through Christmas, but life’s full of fun surprises.”

Adam is excited about the potential of federal politics to better reflect the wide range of opinions Canadians hold on many important issues. “People don’t trust politicians anymore and there’s a good reason for it. There’s more than half a million Canadians with no voice in Parliament right now. They voted for Virginia Irvin, and Liisa Whalley, and every other Green Party candidate in the last federal election. Of all the developed nations in the world there’s only three that still don’t use a proportional representation system: Canada, the UK and the USA. By getting elected I hope to change that; to make Canada the standard for democracy again.”

Adam was born in St. Thomas, Ontario, in 1980. He spent his early years living outside of Chalk River. When he was nine his family moved to Port Elgin where he spent his adolescent years and finished high school. He then spent one year in Banff, Alberta, and the following year in Hamilton, before settling in Oshawa.

After starting his post-secondary education at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Adam became concerned that “the Municipal Planning and Development program was essentially teaching me how to turn green fields into clone-home subdivisions of endless urban sprawl.” In 2002 he decided to change gears and began the three-year Environmental Technology program offered at Durham College in Oshawa. He graduated in April, 2005.

Currently, Adam is considering a career in the environmental consulting field. He has spent the last four years specializing in terrestrial and aquatic gardens, landscaping and in-ground irrigation. Although Adam enjoys sales and service he admits that; “becoming a federal MP would be a great privilege ”. When he’s not busy trying to get elected you can find this avid snowboarder out “cutting tracks” at any local hill.
