| Info | John, his wife Angela, and their three sons have lived in Brampton for over 30 years.
Born in Italy, John Sprovieri began his political career as Alderman for Ward 10 in Brampton in 1988 and has served his residents faithfully in this capacity for the past 15 years. He was elected in 2003 as the new Peel Regional Councillor for Wards 9/10. John was a member of the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union for more than 36 years while working for the Ford Motor Company in Brampton.
He has been actively involved in his community since he was 18 years old offering his enthusiasm to youth groups, ratepayers organizations, the local Parent Teacher association and the Knights of Columbus to name a few. John participates on over five Brampton and Peel Regional Council Standing Committees. In addition, he offers insight and experience on matters ranging from race relations to environmental issues. This is reflected in his involvement with the Humber West Water Shed Committee and his optimism for the future of Brampton and his country.
