LSjustbloggin: Decision Desk called it for Begich
Although Begich may be the favorite, it seems premature to call it before the Top 4 reallocation of second choice votes.

Can someone explain why Tlaib is marked down as an anti-endorsement for Trump? In what universe would she be expected to endorse Trump? Should we mark every Democrat officeholder as anti-Trump and every Republican officeholder as anti-Harris?
Isn’t this the slippery slope that was warned about. This anti endorsement seems ridiculous.

I'm not falling for Islamic propaganda that trashes Israel. E Pluribus Unum, You're just as bad as all those anti-Israel influencers and users across multiple social media platforms and activists on college campuses, you're very contagious. It just sickens me that people are rushing to trash Israel when it was undeservingly attacked. No death was deserved in this bitter conflict and every country has the right to defend itself against enemy invaders. Hamas must be destroyed and yes, they are terrorists.
I support Israel and you clearly don't.

I think for posterity to show who was in consideration we shouldn't have all the others drop out. At least keep in the ones that had interviews with Kamala.

E Pluribus Unum: It could not possibly have anything to do with:
-His Anti-Public School Stance
-His literal dehumanizing essay regarding Palestine and the Middle East
-His volunteer work in the IDF
-Comparing Pro-Palestinian Protesters to the KKK
-Has claimed that the BDS movement for Israel is bad while supporting Divesting from Iran
IDK why the only thing you see when Shapiro is mentioned is "JEW", but it sounds like a U Problem
So much stupid here.
If we are judging people by stupid things they said when they were young and developing their views, you’re going to be in major trouble. Is that our standard now? Holding everyone to what they wrote when they are 20? Or is that just for Jews?
Yes, a group that routinely attacked Jewish students just for being Jewish and wore swastikas and used an anti-Semitic chant calling for the elimination of a Jewish state were bad and had many parallels to early Nazi Germany.
He took part in a summer program as a 14 year old, part of which was on a base. He was not a “volunteer with the IDF”
He holds views on school choice supported by the vast majority of Americans. Cory Booker was also an unwavering champion of school choice through charter schools.
His views on BDS are shared by most Democrats, including most of those in contention for the veepstakes.
So: classic center-left position on Israel, only differences are two things he said/did before he was even drinking age.
The actual difference is that he is the only Jew in contention for the position. He’s the highly popular governor of the most important swing state in the country who may not get picked because a town in Michigan and a group of deranged activists might not like that he’s Jewish.

E Pluribus Unum: If Shapiro is the pick, Michigan is gone.
Which Dems TECHNICALLY don't need to win, BUT it's probably better they do not risk it, especially when it is very heavily focused on electoral bases Dems CANNOT afford to lose to many of
This is bat**** crazy. If Kamala loses Michigan because her running mate is Jewish, then the Democratic coalition is as every bit as deplorable as they claim Republicans are.

Juan Croniqueur: I disagree. Candidates need to register again for the second round. If they don't register and aren't on the ballot, I don't think they should be included at all.
No, I agree with User#6738 - we do this all the time with primaries in the US. Even if they don't officially enter and they are a strong possibility we have them without an Entry Date but with a Drop Out Date. It provides information for future viewers.

We may want to add all the candidates who advanced to the second round and then "drop out" the ones who withdrew. That way, if someone searches for a particular candidate, it doesn't just show them "winning" the first round without showing them withdrawing from the second round.

You = the DSA movement and hard lefties. Sorry you have filtered out the countless violent protests against Jews at their homes, businesses, and places of worship - just because they are Jews. The rest of us are disgusted by it. Its really hateful and gross.
And thanks for proving my point about the DSA which people already recognize. You are a radical irrational over-emotional immature group of selfish people.
But like generations before you, you will grow up. Get married. Have kids. And realize life is about the people you love and you will live your life for them. And "radical" will be in your rear view mirror, because loving your own will be more important that hating someone else.
PS - Bowman is still an unlikeable and deeply flawed candidate.

He was down 17 points before AIPAC spent a dime in the race.
Note also that the DSA isn't have a great year overall. Its not only suburban New York where the DSA and far left are losing - the other night the only two DSA members of the Colorado legislature were defeated for re-election - In urban Denver.
Stop blaming the Jews and reflect inward. Its your message and the way you are delivering it to other Democrats.
And face it - Bowman was unlikeable and a deeply flawed candidate.

Hikikomori Blitzkrieg!: Seems like it's gonna be a run-off between Schiff and Garvey. Can Garvey pull it off? Seems questionable, but the real question is the Porter vote. Everyone who votes for Katie Porter in round one, will turn out to vote for Schiff in round two. If the combined voted of Schiff and Porter in round one is approaching 45 percent, then Schiff's got it. If not, Garvey might be able to pull off an upset.
There is absolutely no chance in hell Garvey would win the general election.

BrentinCO: Fair or not, the media/pundit class seem to be judging the dynamics of the Republican nomination and Biden renomination very differently. Biden's age, presentation, and weaknesses have Dems more worried then Trumps age, presentation, and weaknesses have Reps worried.
The media is one thing, but the primary results would seem to indicate the opposite.

Can someone justify why there is a disputed tag on Senator Lujan's profile page?
I just noticed this and have no idea where this is coming from. Its certainly not an issue or a topic in New Mexico. I only find one rando article from many years ago where a primary opponent made a lifestyle jab because he wasn't married. To the best of my knowledge Republicans haven't made this an issue at all. Seems there has to be a higher bar than a primary opponent or campaign throwing mud.
I vote to remove.

I think it's a bit premature to put Timmermans up as leader of the PvdA/GroenLinks list right now. I would strongly recommend that we put up the list logo in his stead.
The list uses the same long process as the VVD, the CDA and D66 to elect their leader. Interested candidates throw their hats into the ring by a certain date (in the PvDA-Groenlinks case, it's August 4. Read here: [Link] ). The PvDA-Groenlinks board then selects their candidate (it may be Timmermans, or it may not be). This selection will then compete against non board-favored candidates for the vote of thousands of PvdA and GroenLinks members, with results announced on August 22.
If we put up Timmermans now, why not also put up Dilan Yesilgöz-Zegerius for the VVD, or Rob Jetten for D66? What do you think?

Makes sense given the internal antisemitism report that caused Corbyn to be suspended from the caucus back in 2020. If Starmer let Corbyn run as a Labour candidate it would have caused more problems.
