This seat is an interesting one. I usually come here for Thanksgiving quite a bit. Beautiful area. I have relatives in the Marblehead region. But frankly speaking my view on this issue is that this is a completely ridiculous non-issue and it's not one the government needs to be involved in. That should be a policy up to the school districts and individual leagues, etc, etc.
In all honesty this is a ridiculous niche issue pushed by an interest group that seriously doesn't understand what this looks like to people who aren't politically active.

So this is interesting. It again depends on Candidates. Collins is the favorite right now, Pingree probably can't win because she's too liberal but Jared Golden would absolutely be a potential favorite against her and actually is to Collins' Right on Gun Control

To be fair I honestly felt Peltola was one of those politicians that could hold back a national tide and Alaska tends to hold onto it's representatives for a long time. So a bit of a surprise. Call her a conservative dem or what you will she has to represent Alaska which has many different challenges compared to the lower 48. Her being endorsed by the NRA was not a negative here, It's a massive state and frankly I'd probably carry a gun here because of how remote it can be.

I get that the President has latitude over who is on his team. I'll give an example I think Doug Burgum, Marco Rubio and Doug Collins have views different from me but I think they're qualified to run the departments they want. People like Hegseth, Gabbard, Gaetz and Kennedy have zero serious business being in there. They are on the fringes of politics.

Currently the Standings of Called Races are
19 GOP
15 Dems
5 IND
1 GOP Race (28) and 2 Dem Races (38 and 40) are likely to stay in the hands of both parties
This leaves 6 and 36 as a toss up pending RCV
However we also have the weird dynamics of alaska the reps from 37-40 caucused with the majority last time but two of those seats look likely to turn over representatives. Louise Stutes in 5 is also a member of the minority coalition.
Right now it appears that the minority coalition gained 3 seats according to reports and David Eastman who caucused with no-one was beaten by a Mainstream Republican
So its looking like
21-19 for the Majority Coalition? It would depend on what happens with the independents as well as the District 37-40 seats.

The thing with Burgum is I think he's at heart moderate but has moved to the political right because he tried to run for President and wanted to be in Trump's Cabinet.
