| Description |
Results were released by the the Commission Electorale Nationale Indépendante (CENI) on May 25, 2020 at 12:00 GMT.
100 of 124 seats were directly elected using the first-past-the-post method.
Of the 100 individuals directly elected to their seats, 72 were Hutu and 28 were Tutsi, reflecting the 60-40 ethnic composition as mandated by the Burundi constitution. Three additional seats were reserved for the "twa" minority.
By tradition, the start of the mandate for the new Assembly begins when official results are declared by the CENI, which is expected to be on June 4, 2020.
