The Democratic State Convention was held in
Reading, Pa. on 5/30/1872. Charles R. Buckalew, a
former US Senator, was nominated for Governor on
the 7th ballot, at the end of which the nomination
was made unanimous. The number of delegates was
133; necessary for nomination, 67. The vote:
