BBC Constituency Profile:
Set in the heart of whisky country between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray is known for its spectacular coastline and famous distilleries. Elgin is the main town, with the rest of the population sprinkled across several small fishing and farming communities.
Well-known whisky brands like Glenlivet and Glenfiddich are made here, while the Lossiemouth air base recently became home to the RAF's Typhoon squadron. In 2012, RAF Kinloss, also in Moray, was closed as an air force base and converted into an army barracks. The area's geography has also attracted the interest of renewable energy developers.
Despite a history of returning Conservative MPs, SNP veteran Winnie Ewing won Moray 1974 and her daughter-in-law Margaret also served as the local MP. The Nationalists' Angus Robertson has been the local MP since 2001, and held the seat at the last election by 5,590 votes.
