Description |
The french presidential election of 1906 was essentially a two-men contest between Senator Armand Fallières and the President of the National Assembly Paul Doumer.
Paul Doumer was accused by most radicals, including Clemenceau, of having an opportunistic behaviour and was dislkied among them. Therefore, they throw support behind Fallière's candidacy and got him elected in the first ballot with 449 votes to Doumer's 371.
