Each party-nominated speaker candidate was voted on individually. To be elected, a candidate must receive a majority of the 450 members.
Aleksandr Zhukov (ER) and Ivan Melnikov (KPRF) were selected first deputy speakers. Other deputy speakers selected were Andrei Vorobyev (ER), Igor Lebedev (LDPR), Nikolai Levichev (SR), Oleg Morozov (ER), Sergey Neverov (ER), and Lyudmila Shvetsova (ER).
