Description |
Justice Dimmick resigned her seat the day before Booth Gardner was sworn in as governor in order to give outgoing Gov. John Spellman a chance to appoint her replacement before leaving office. She lobbied for her similarly-minded friend Barbara Durham to take her seat and Spellman followed through with her request. Dimmick was soon after nominated to the US District Court by President Reagan and took office that April.
