Description |
Eight cities placed bids for the XXI Olympic Winter Games or 2010. On August 28, 2002 the IOC short-listed four of them and eliminated four others from contention. Berne, Switzerland withdrew its bid on September 27, 2002 after almost 80% voted against a referendum to fund the Games.
Vancouver was chosen over Calgary and Quebec City to be Canada's bid city, Pyeongchang defeated Muju for Korea's nod and Jaca was chosen over Granada for Spain's bid.
