Special election held to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Sen. Settle. Winstead only served seven days before the legislature adjourned.
Winstead was elected on the fourth ballot:
Ballots 1-3 (same result on these three): Winstead 22, Ferebee 20, Shober 1, others 2
4th ballot: Winstead 23, Shober 18, others 4
