Populist Nomination
The Populist state convention on 4/25/1900 did not make a nomination for SOS. The incumbent, Cyrus Thompson, was chairman of the convention and was nominated for governor. A man named J.B. Schulken became a placeholder candidate for SOS on the Populist ticket until the Republicans took action.
Republican Nomination
The Republican state convention on 5/2/1900 nominated J.E. Cameron for SOS, but he declined to run. James F. Parrott served as a placeholder SOS nominee.
Prohibition Nomination
Parker was nominated for SOS at the Prohibition state convention on 5/22/1900.
Fusion Nomination
On 7/26/1900, the leaders of the Republican and Populist Parties met and agreed on a fusion ticket. Cyrus Thompson became the nominee for another term as SOS, replacing Schulken and Parrott.
