Description |
The Republican Party rebounded from its defeat in 1926, taking six seats from the Democrats in regular elections and another two in special elections. Five incumbent Democrats were defeated. Outside of the South, five Democrats and Shipstead (FL) were elected. The new party breakdown was 56 Republicans, 39 Democrats, and Shipstead (FL).
