I am totally shocked by this, if he does this, a Democratic governor is virtually impossible.

Mr. Matt: Oregon Gov. Christine Drazan agrees

I mean to be fair Oregon is a much more Democratic state than Michigan, however given that it's a Trump year and the fact that I don't know if the Michigan GOP is going to nominate someone strong, I still have it as a Dem hold, for now.

Also it's unclear how much voters on the Democratic side would be willing to support Duggan.

You mean a Vance year? I truly think Trump will step down and Vance will be POTUS.

I think what is more likely is Trump passing away in the middle of his term, also causing Vance to be POTUS.

BigZuck08:
however given that it's a Trump year and the fact that I don't know if the Michigan GOP is going to nominate someone strong,

I do think the GOP cares as much as the Democrats on nominating a strong candidate in this race, but not as much consideration in the US Senate race. In 2022, the GOP picked the strongest candidate in that field, but the candidates were abysmal. In 2018, the Republicans had two good choices, and they choose either of those candidates.
