Given that a big part of their success has been a tendency to run liberal and pragmatic candidates instead of hard-core progressives I wonder if the state party is controlled by more of the latter. If your intent is to run candidates who appeal outward as a guiding principle then a ranked system is only going to be of benefit.

Not sure how I feel about the four candidate option such as if it opens up any new game playing possibilities, but yeah, RCV should promote more centrist candidates and at least give 3rd parties a chance if they better reflect the will of the electorate.

This is true. Arguably Polis is a moderate Governor. He is at odds with the more hard-core progressives from Denver and successfully knocked off two DSA House Reps in the Primary this year.

Changed my mind. Looking at who is supporting this, even though the parties are opposed, seems like this will get passed. Major Mayors both D and R, along with Denver Pols, Colorado Springs Pols, and Grand Junction Pols. Seems like it has support from influential people through that state.
