The damage ran too deep for any particular VP selection to lead to a Harris win. But Walz did not lead to inroads among the working-class or among men as was anticipated.

I personally think Buttigieg would have helped her win the election. I honestly think Walz was chosen because Harris worried about Minnesota.

Walz was chosen because the base loved him and he is a straight white Midwestern man. They weren't worried about Minnesota because they would lose the whole Midwest and the election before they would lose Minnesota regardless of the VP.

And then Dems said "Hey can you STOP doing the things that make the Base like you?" So picking him was a stupid decision....

Harris choosing Walz certainly didn't help. Biden remaining in the race would've made a huge difference, he probably could've beaten Trump in a rematch despite the disaster of his presidency.

I don't the Walz was THE reason she lost, that being said he was not a stellar pick.

Bad for Walz but good for Shapiro because now he can run as himself as opposed to being the candidate who ran with Harris.
