Description | Far left, minor Marxist party begun as the Socialist Alliance Party in July 2003. Continued abysmal results electorally (party failed to pick up a single seat either nationally or locally in spite participating in almost every single contest) motivated it to rename itself the Romanian Communist Party on July 2010 [Link] When this was rejected by the Bucharest Tribunal, the party was proposed for abolition on May 2013 for lack of funds and membership, until it presented new credentials as a newly-merged party under a vehicle it had itself created called the Socialist Alternative Party. Party then changed its name to the Romanian Socialist Party (PSR) a day before its formal dissolution on April 20, 2015. Party was founded in 2003 and led by Constantin Rotaru [Partidul Socialist Român (PSR)]. |
