Description | Left-of-center alliance formed and led by ex Bolivian President (August 2001-August 2002) Jorge Tuto Quiroga. Alliance was announced to back Quiroga's candidacy for president in 2025 and was joined by the Revolutionary Left Front (Frente Revolucionario de Izquierda, FRI). Alliance declares itself to be an alternative to the ruling Movement Towards Socialism (MAS). Alliance supports selling unprofitable public companies to its workers, reviving Bolivia's important gas production sector and stimulating foreign investment with tax reductions and favors. Alliance also supports approaching the International Monetary Fund to help pull Bolivia out of its economic downturn [Libertad y República (Libre); Liberty Alliance; Alliance Libre)]. |
