| Description | Rebirth of the center-right Save Romania Union founded on July 1, 2015 and dissolved by merger with the Freedom, Unity and Solidarity Party (PLUS) on April 16, 2021. Party had reconstituted itself under the leadership (since October 1, 2021) of former Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș, who used it as a springboard to become Prime Minister-designate after the ousting of Prime Minister Florin Cîțu on October 5, 2021. Cioloș' failure in this endeavor and membership's rejection of his internal party reforms forced his departure on February 7, 2022. Party leader has been former minister of transport and MP Cătălin Drulă since July 10, 2022. Party's platform and philosophy remains fundamentally the same as the old Save Romania Union dissolved on April 16, 2021. Party holds 20 seats in the 136-seat Senate and 41 seats in the 330-seat Chamber of Deputies [Uniunea Salvați România (USR)]. |
