Description | Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich has stepped on every possible toe in recent days. Members from every section of the party are disappointed by her attempt to shape a list of "stars," and the grass-root activists are furious after having heard she intends to reserve one slot instead of two for kibbutzim and moshavim, and to do the same for Arabs and Druze.
"There is a lot of grumbling about Yacimovich," a senior member of the party who insisted on anonymity said Tuesday. "She is acting like a bull in a china shop, in an authoritarian way." A line frequently heard in recent days among activists goes: "We miss the days of Ehud Barak," referring to the former Labor chairman who bolted to form Atzmaut.
"These remarks give me the chills," said a Labor MK who encountered the criticism at a political discussion held in his home. "The name Ehud Barak symbolizes the crushing of the party. How is it possible that right at a time like this, people are saying they miss him?" |
