Description | A Muslim chaplain with the city's Department of Correction was arraigned Thursday as part of a Queens prostitution sting.
Authorities say Imam Aziz Bilal of Queens was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly patronizing a prostitute.
Bilal, who has an arrest record that includes robbery and bribery, was held without bail Thursday and is due back in court in October.
He has been a chaplain with the DOC since 1990 and ran unsuccessfully for a City Council seat in 2001. |
