Brewer picks Bennett for Secretary of State post

Description | Former state senator and energy company executive Ken Bennett will succeed Jan Brewer as Arizona Secretary of State when the latter becomes governor later this month.
Brewer said Friday she was picking Bennett to succeed her in the Secretary of State position, Brewer is slated to become governor when Janet Napolitano quits that post to become U.S. Homeland Security Secretary in the Obama administration.
Napolitano is a Democrat while Brewer and Bennett are Republicans.
Bennett served as Arizona Senate president and has held executive posts with energy-related businesses in Prescott and in the Phoenix area. |
