Description | Melinda Wheeler is campaigning for the $99,060-a-year job as state treasurer on the idea the office should be abolished.
But Wheeler -- alone among the four Democrats and four Republicans vying for the office -- will not pledge not to run again for the office in four years if she wins this year and fails to do away with it.
"I'm going to stay in that office until I get it abolished," she says. "I don't think there will be any problem to abolish it, and the best way to do it is from the inside."
Her opponents disagree. |
