| Info | Melinda L. Wheeler is the sixth Director of the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts. She started her extensive career with the AOC as a pretrial officer in 1976, just after the 1975 Judicial Article to the Kentucky Constitution made the Kentucky Court of Justice a unified court system. Since that time, Ms. Wheeler has served in several capacities including General Manager of Pretrial Services and Court Security, and AOC Deputy Director. In 2000, she received the national Ennis J. Olgiati Award in recognition for lifetime achievement in pretrial services. In 2003, the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy gave Ms. Wheeler its Robert F. Stephens Public Service Award. Ms. Wheeler is a native of Paintsville, Ky. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Pikeville College.
