Description | WASHINGTON - Thompson's in, Sharpton's not.
Former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson, who was health and human services secretary during President Bush's first term, yesterday joined the crowded field of Republicans running for the White House in 2008.
"I am the reliable conservative. My record shows that," Thompson, 65, said on ABC's "This Week."
Meanwhile, the Rev. Al Sharpton, who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004, says he won't get into the race this time. "I am not going to run," he told CNN. |
