Description | DALLAS - Two black community leaders filed paperwork Friday in an attempt to recall Mayor Laura Miller.
Marvin Crenshaw and Roy Williams, both perennial candidates in local elections, filed notice of their intent to circulate petitions seeking a recall election.
They have 60 days to collect at least 72,873 signatures of registered city voters, which is 15 percent of those who were entitled to vote in the last election.
Recently, African-American community leaders and pastors have held two marches and gathered at City Council meetings demanding a recall of Miller since the abrupt firing of former Police Chief Terrell Bolton.
