Description | As moral victories go, they don’t get much bigger than Elizabeth May’s remarkable second-place finish in a London-North-Centre byelection that the Green Party leader called “historic.”
With the majority of polls reporting, the new Green Party leader rode a wave of last-minute momentum to a performance she hopes will set up victory in the next election.
“Any good showing here is a victory for us,” said May, a Cape Breton native surrounded by jubilant supporters at the London Music Club.
“We’ve made a breakthrough here.” |
