Description | SCOTTSDALE - State Sen. Carolyn Allen walked into a bakery in Scottsdale, sat down and sighed.
Allen, the incumbent Scottsdale Republican from legislative District 8, expected a tough race in the Sept. 12 GOP primary against her opponent, state Rep. Colette Rosati, R-Scottsdale.
She's getting one.
"Ms. Rosati has taken to calling me a socialist," said Allen, who is seeking a third two-year term in the Senate after serving eight years in the Arizona House.
Constituents have called the senator complaining that as she goes door to door, Rosati is accusing Allen of Marxist tendencies. |
