Description | AUSTIN — Democrats Chris Bell and Bob Gammage tended to last-minute campaigning today in their bids to become the nominee to face Republican Gov. Rick Perry.
Neither Democrat had much money to spend in their gubernatorial race and relied on volunteers, endorsements and old-fashioned personal politicking to sway Texas primary voters. Bell and Gammage both have experience in public office, but little statewide name recognition.
Perry faced minor opposition in his GOP primary. He was spending some of today in Washington in an effort to land more hurricane recovery money for the state. |
