Description | Nevada Controller Kathy Augustine, the only state official ever impeached and convicted, has been urged by state Republican Party Chairman Paul Adams to not embarrass the party by seeking another elective office next year.
Adams, who sent the two-term Republican controller a confidential letter last week following Augustine's call informing him she was thinking about running, said Monday that he didn't want the letter to become public but stands by what he wrote.
"She admitted to ethics violations and was impeached and censured," Adams said. "That would be in my opinion an embarrassment to the party and I stand by it." |
