Description | Svend Robinson, the former New Democrat MP who left office after he was caught stealing a diamond ring, is mulling a political comeback.
He told The Globe and Mail he will likely run again in the next federal election.
"I'm pretty close," Robinson said in an interview with the newspaper.
"It would take something pretty significant for me not to go ahead now. And I just don't see what that will be."
Robinson is expected to make it official when he makes an announcement in two weeks' time.
He plans to run in the Vancouver Centre riding against Liberal MP Hedy Fry, rather than his old riding of Burnaby Douglas, which has been filled by NDP MP Bill Siksay. |
