DescriptionThis riding has existed since the 1981 election. This is a southern Winnipeg riding that runs between the city limits to the west and the Red River to the east, and between the city limits to the south and the Perimeter Highway/CNR Line/Chancellor Matheson Road/University Crescent/Sifton Road to the north. The riding contains suburban communities.
The population in 2001 was 18,980. The average family income was $69,371, with an unemployment rate of six per cent. The leading industries were health and social services (13.9%) and educational services (13.4%).
