DescriptionThis riding in Peel Region, in the Greater Toronto Area, contains parts of the cities of Mississauga and Brampton. Almost 46 per cent of residents are immigrants from various cultures.

The riding stretches from Highway 401 in the southeast to Mayfield Road in the northwest, between Dixie Road, Bovaird Drive and Torbram Road in the southwest and Highway 50 and Highway 427 in the northeast.

About one-third of the population has a mother tongue other than English. There are significant Italian communities and one of the largest East Indian populations in Canada.

The riding's economy is driven largely by a variety of light manufacturing and high technology industries. Because of the presence of Pearson International Airport, it has many of Canada's leading aerospace companies. Average family income is $64,831 and the unemployment rate is 5.6 per cent.

This riding was created as Brampton-Gore-Malton in 1986 out of 35 per cent of Brampton-Georgetown and 17 per cent of Mississauga North. In 1990 it was renamed Brampton-Gore-Malton-Springdale. There was no change in 1996, and in 2004, as Brampton-Gore-Malton again, the northern boundary moved south.
