InfoGrew up on a dairy and row crop (cotton, corn, wheat, oats, alfalfa) farm in Tulare. Attended Tulare Western High School, where he competed in cross country (Coached by Mike Young), track, and wrestling, earning the opportunity to compete in China through International Sports Exchange under McFarland Coach Jim White. Also participated in FFA, earning the California State Champion title in FFA "Farm Records" competition; spent two separate weeks studying U.S. Government in Washington D.C.; Attended Santa Clara University, where he competed in three seasons of NCAA Division I Cross Country; earned a BSC in Finance, Magna Cum Laude; completed an internship in Corporate Strategic Planning at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), conducted dairy industry economic research for DCCA (which later merged with Land O'Lakes) under the direction of dairy industry economist James W. Gruebele, Ph.D., and worked as a teaching assistant for the Santa Clara University Economics Department; Earned a California Real Estate Salesperson License in 2003 and a California Real Estate Broker License in 2005 and has sold real estate in both the Silicon Valley and Central San Joaquin Valley. Worked in Commercial / Agribusiness Lending as an Agribusiness Consultant for Wells Fargo Bank from 2008 to 2015, rising to the level of Vice President. While at Wells Fargo, worked with multi-million dollar dairy, farming, and agribusiness processing, importer, and exporter company accounts throughout CA, OR, WA, ID, AZ, NV, NM, TX, and WI, as well as researched domestic and international commodity markets and developed commodity price analysis tools under the direction of the bank's Chief Agricultural Economist. During his tenure at Wells Fargo, also earned his Master of Business Administration, With Distinction, at the Craig School of Business at Fresno State University. Concurrent with the California State Legislature sending the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) to Governor Brown's desk for signature, enrolled in law school at Northwestern California University School of Law, eventually earning the degree of Juris Doctor. While attending law school, worked as a real estate paralegel and Certified Law Student, with emphasis on construction defect litigation, writing commercial real estate purchase-sale and lease contracts and other transactional, litigated and mediated business and real estate law matters. Has also completed the Water 101 Program, held at McGeorge Law School through the Water Education Foundation and the Ag Lending Institute, held at Fresno State University, Craig School of Business, through the Agricultural Lenders Society, and in 2023 earned his FAA Part 107 Commercial Unmanned Aerial System (Drone) Operator License for aerial real estate photography. In addition to his extensive financial, economic, legal, real estate, agricultural and agribusiness experience "from the desk", also understands the day-to-day struggles of the back-breaking, hands-on work done by countless Central Valley residents, through personal work experience appraising hundreds of thousands of head of dairy cattle throughout California, Idaho, and Arizona, feeding cows, driving front-end-loaders and farm tractors, operating forklifts, driving a box truck, loading and unloading trucks, cutting metal and other skilled and unskilled manual labor. In anticipation of upcoming ground-water-pumping cutbacks pursuant to the roll-out of SGMA, is currrently developing a small, experimental dry-farmed prickly pear cactus and lavender farm in eastern San Luis Obispo County (just miles from the Kern County border) to test the commercial viability of dry-farming prickly pear and lavender in Central California. James Cardoza currently resides in Fresno and speaks english as well as basic-intermediate spanish.

Hobbies - James Cardoza enjoys hiking, trail running, and tai chi. Two of his most proud accomplishmments include crossing the Sierra Nevada Mountain range on foot in a single day, from Cedar Grove in Kings Canyon National Park to Onion Valley (on the edge of the Owens Valley); as well as biking un-supported from Santa Cruz, across the Coastal Mountain Range, the Central Valley, and the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range to Carson City, Nevada, in just four days.
