Edward D. E. Rollins, Sr.--11/15/1899-7/3/76—The Honorable Edward D. E. Rollins, Sr. graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1926 and passed the Bar Exam that same year. In 1927 he moved his family to the town of Elkton where he began the law practice of Edward D. E. Rollins attorney-at-law. He was later elected as State’s Attorney for Cecil County where he served for four terms. Then, in 1952, he was appointed by then Governor Theodore R. McKeldin, to Attorney General for the State of Maryland, where he served honorably until 1954. He was the last Republican to serve as Attorney General for the State of Maryland. In 1957 he was appointed as Judge for the Circuit Court for Cecil County. He retired from that honorable position in 1969. As the first attorney of the Rollins Law Group, Judge Rollins, Sr. has left a long legacy of law in this community which lasts even today.
