Info | Anthony Rota was first elected to Parliament on June 28, 2004 and was returned to Ottawa for his second term in January, 2006. Prior to his election to the House of Commons, Anthony served with the National Research Council.
Currently, Anthony chairs the Ontario National Liberal Caucus, and was appointed to the shadow cabinet as FedNor critic. He has also served as Chair of the Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs; the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs; and as a Member of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Masters of Business Administration. He has been an entrepreneur in the private sector in finance, real estate, and retail and has a strong business background and has served on many local boards, organizations, and volunteer groups in various capacities
Anthony is also on the executive of the Canadian North-Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Parliamentary Association; and is treasurer of the Canada-Italy Interparliamentary Group.
Fluent in English, French, Italian, and Spanish, Anthony was born on May 15, 1961 in North Bay. Anthony is married to Chantal Piché-Rota and they have one child, Samantha.
