InfoMichel Mallette was born on May 10th, 1951. Since the age of 11, he has lived in Saint-Eugne-dArgentenay, a village located a dozen kilometres north of Dolbeau-Mistassini.

In 1974, he obtained his diploma in Hotel Administration from the Institut dHtellerie du Qubec. Following his studies, he went on to work in different areas of event planning and sales.

In 1993, he organized an annual celebration for the forestry sector and its workers, Dmo-Fte 2000 which was launched in Dolbeau-Mistassini.

Over the course of the years, the event has taken on more importance and, in 2003, Mr. Malette broadened his organizations mission. The goal of Dmo-Fort 2000 is to gather all the key players of the forestry industry and stimulate interest for this sector. Some of the key objectives of Dmo Fort 2000 is to enhance forestry occupations and professions, ensure that all regions have a sufficient work force and a competent new generation of workers, and promote the use of wood products.

Dmo-Fort 2000 is now the largest forestry exhibition in Quebec.

Because of his passion for the region and his desire to stimulate growth in his county, Mr. Malette decided to become a candidate for Team Martin in the federal riding of Roberval.

He has been married to Mrs. Annie Paquet since 1991, with whom he has two children, nine-year-old Sophie and six-year-old Andre-Anne.
