Info | During my career, I led large teams, worked on multiple business projects, tackled complex issues including international restructuring, business divestitures, and Initial Public Offerings and worked directly with a diverse and ever changing workforce throughout the world. I also volunteer for organizations I am passionate about.
During my 20+ years in tax, accounting and business management, I've seen first hand and I value how entrepreneurs and small business drive innovation, opportunities and jobs here in Utah.
I worked for companies in Utah including Skullcandy, Goal Zero, Fusion-io, FranklinCovey. and Caldera. Early in my career, I worked for the Internal Revenue Service and James &Co. Business Advisors & CPAs.
I graduated from Weber State University in Accounting and continued my education in the University of Nevada, Reno's Master of Professional Accountancy program with an emphasis on Taxation. As part of continuing professional education, I took classes as a Valuation Analyst through the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NAVCA) and as an Equity Professional through Santa Clara University.
Where I was raised:
I was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah. My parents values and their examples influenced my attitudes toward education, acceptance and understanding of others, service, and work ethic.
My father, Jed, was a career Union Pacific Railroad employee and a Korean War Veteran. My mother, Carol, was the Nursing Supervisor at the Davis County Mental Health Clinic and received her PhD in Marriage and Family Counseling from Brigham Young University.
My husband, Kurt, and I have married for over 20 years. We selected Herriman as our home in 2002. Our blended family includes 5 children, one cat, and our dog, Lizzie the Pug.
